Lets hope this frrum gets off the mark!

As a question to anyone who may be reading..  my wife is the proud owner of the new 2 sport delivered late Nov 07.

Today having driven the car for two miles attempted to lock the car but the indication was that a door was open.

Having re opened and closed all doors and hatch, symptoms the same and therefore the car would not lock

Anyone seen this before?

hmm definitely a dealer issue. unfortunately i have a mazda 3 myself and cant really help out on this particular problem, but maybe other 2 owners can help out. i'll look up the tsb issues though for the 2 and see if this problem is there Smiley

i had that problem in a car park it took me half an hour until i figured out why it wouldn't lock, i thought the battery had gone in the key and it wouldn't even lock manually. the problem for me was the boot but i had to close it about 10 times for some reason even tho to me it was definitely closed well :S but thankfully i haven't had that problem again.

Having only read this last night you'd have thought that this wouldn't have caught me out today as well...

Twenty minutes of my life i'm never going to get back. I was only ten minutes from a dealer, thank goodness i didn't take it there!

Did anyone manage to figure out why this was happening ?

I dont know if my problem this morning is the same or not, but I have a car that wont lock the drivers door or boot (passenger door locks) and a padlock warning light is on my dashboard (dont have manual here to check this out doh !!!)

Wondering if its temp related as its -11 here this morning, will go and recheck when the sun comes up, but any advice would be greatly appreciated

if anyone has problems locking there car and the key warning light is on but all doors, bonnet and boot lid are closed check the boot opening button to see if it is cracked or split causing water entry into the boot button and re-opening the boot or check when pressing transmitter the light is flashing on the transmitter if its not flat battery or faulty transmitter.

Great!  Thanks for the post about the boot release button, I have just checked and it has perished on both of our cars.  At least that explains why the lock was so quick to freeze up.
