Hi All,

I'm new to this board, although I've had my 2 since July 09 (first reg). Apologies in advance if this questions been asked before. Has anyone noticed the paint finish (or lack of it) on the rear of the front wing. When you open the doors of the car there's no top coat paint colour ( True Red in my case ) on the rear of the front wings.

I am into detailing my cars in a big way ( I know I should get a life  Wink Wink )and it annoys me no end that there's no top coat on there. I brought this up with my dealership and Mazda UK expecting to get them done under warranty only to be told it was standard finish.
Anyone else had any gripes about this issue.

Regards

Ian

This is standard as it was a "way" to keep the costs down (!).

Hi Angelos,

I'd been told by the dealership it was standard finish, but I thought if I "embarrassed" Mazda enough about it they would paint it as a goodwill gesture.  I appreciate it is a cost saving for them and they must get ever millionth car painted for free with the amount of paint they save   Tongue
I personally think it looks cheap and I expect better of Mazda.

This isn't isolated to the rear of the front wings.

Pull any of the door handles and you'll see grey unpainted primer there too. Not only a cost saving, but part of Mazda's ruthless weight saving program no doubt.
