This may be a bit late to suggest as you have Trading Standards etc involved, but I would like to think What Car magazine or similar would be interested in reporting this.  It could be worth contacting them.

Additionally their website has an Owner Review section and you may like to consider posting something there, possibly with a view of posting another once a solution is (or isn't) found.

consumer direct have referred it to trading standards not me and im saving the press as a last ditch effort to get them to see sense.
my fuel economy has hit an all time low today 15.6 mpg lets see Mazda explain that away

Mazda UK have phoned me today and it seems my dealer has been telling some porkies. Angry
Mazda Uk have said they have been informed by the factory that a fault exists with some mazda 2 alarm systems manufactured since june of last year they have now found the fault and fixed it and are producing replacement parts. There are many hundreds of people waiting for parts not 7 or 50 as stated by my dealer.
They know of no factory faults that would affect fuel economy or that would affect the rear suspension and all m2's do not in fact have a knock from the rear suspension as my dealer said.
My dealer had not told Mazda UK that the vehicle had already been rejected so they sent the parts to repair the car.
Mazda UK did not refuse to replace the car as they do not get involved with customer rejections as any contract is with the dealer and not Mazda (what I told my dealer)
Mazda Uk were not impressed that the car was delivered damaged and then repaired by non mazda approved repairers and then damaged again by the dealer.
Mazda Uk were not impressed about the amount of visits I have had to make back to the dealer or the quality of service I have received from my dealer the dodgy courtesy car did not go down well.
Mazda Uk will now contact my dealer and state my concerns to my dealer and re inform them that the vehicle remains rejected and tell them that it is their problem to sort out.
Mazda are not happy bunnies with my dealer I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when they call them.
I am awaiting a phone call from my dealer if they have the balls to call me after they have been caught lying to their customers. Shocked

all m2's do not in fact have a knock from the rear suspension as my dealer said.

Both of our 08 reg TS2s have a creaking noise from the rear suspension for the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile after they have been left for a while.

Guess what still had no phone call from my dealer I spoke to mazda UK at 9.20 yesterday morning so they had plenty of time to call me.
I'm calling them tomorrow and demanding to speak to the dealership manager.

Very well done, andy_g, for getting on to Mazda UK. A friend of mine has had a Mazda 6 diesel almost totalled by our local dealership and if it wasn't for intervention, I think they would have taken at least a month to fix the car.

It amazes me that Mazda UK have such bad dealerships.

yeah it amazes me to it's no wonder there are not so many mazda's on the road.
I have never had such bad service from a dealer up to now I thought my local vauxhall dealer was bad but these guys beat them hands down.
I've still had no contact from the dealer since I spoke to Mazda UK.
They will be getting a mouth full off me tomorrow i've seriously had enough this sh*t now I will go and sound off in the show room if I need to see how they like it when their customers find out that lie to their customers.
If they think I will get bored and go away they are sadly mistaken they have pi**ed off the wrong guy.

Well I've been down to my dealer today and no one senior was available to deal with me.
I also asked for a copy of all the job sheets for the car and they have conveniently disappeared the service guy spent well over an hour looking for them.
The sales men were looking very worried indeed as they were asked if they had them etc.
I asked about what they were doing about my rejection and why I had been lied to and they had no answer at all.
I can see this going to the local papers etc.
I am well pi**ed off now.
