At 22k miles my Mazda 2 is due it's second service soon... However I've now noticed that the brakes have become really spongy and occasionally feel a tad gravelly. The car is still on it's first set of pads, but sponginess generally points towards air in the brake lines according to various net types. I've also heard no brake wear indicators (old car used to develop a high pitched squeal as the indicator hit the disc)

Anyone else had any trouble like this?

Sounds like you've either got air in the system or your brake fluid for some reason has gone hygroscopic and needs changing. Either way, get it sorted! Was out the other night drying my brakes after washing the car and did a few severe stops from 40mph - found the brakes to be really good.

you need to get the rear drum brakes manuelly adjusted.... it's duo to the rear brake shoes wearing faster than the self adjuster work.
