Hiya, newbie here!

Has anybody had any problems with the clutch? I've had my August '09 Tamura since February this year and I've never been really happy with the clutch - and just recently I'm sure it has got worse.

What happens is that, as you engage the clutch to pull away, the revs seem to die off a bit unless you give it a little bit more throttle. This makes it harder than it should be to get going without kangarooing (or stalling). This happens in reverse gear and first - and there's even a hint of it when you are changing up to second, third or fourth. And it's a real bugger to hold it on the clutch when you are pulling away uphill.

This is beginning to get on my nerves. Apart from that, I'm still smitten!

We have the same issue with ours (we bought a 59 TS2 end of Feb), I guess we have just got used to it now but your right, it is a pain in the rear! I wonder if it is just this model year that's affected or a general 2  issue.

PS welcome to the forum, I hope you find it very useful!

Thanks for the replies - seems like the naughty clutch is probably 'engineered-in'.

I'm letting the dealership have a look at it tomorrow so I'll report back on their comments

Yeah I have also noticed this problem and it is quite annoying. I think its probably a characteristic of all the Mazda 2s.

I was told by the dealership today that all Mazda 2s have this characteristic and he thinks its the strong clutch springs.

BTW, chap at work had a Mazda 3 last Friday and said it was similar - he stalled it a couple of times.

I would say l2drive is an issue here Smiley .. Yes car have a issue of being a bit jerky if you dont give it enough gas .. but .. well for that reason we have that pedal on the right Smiley what is realy helpful is to rev it up to at least 3k rpm (1,3 petrol-75k , not sure about diesels and clutch on those) before going from 1st to 2nd gear. On the other hand if you put your foot down and go for it, you wont have that issue .. youŽll probably burn some tires instead Tongue (i do not have tsc)

Glad its not just me then.
What with the clicking clutch pedal and this, wish I had bought a Fiesta.
