Hi all,
I have a mazda 2 ts2 in metropolitan grey! After washing it today I have noticed some paint corrosion on my bonnet! And patched where it looks like it will start peeling away!
Has anyone else had anything similar?! I am booked in to the garage tomorrow to have it looked at but would be good if I could take similar incidents as examples!

Thanks
laura

Hello, welcome
Never heard anything like that here, I think. Thankfully modern cars have many years in corrosion warranty!

How long have you had the car?

If you are within a certain time I think 6 months you can reject the car as it is of unsatisfactory quality.

Speak to consumer direct thats what I did when I rejected my first 2 Mazda were forced to replace my car

I would reject the car under the Sales of Goods Act. The paint work should be of satisfactory quality and last a reasonable length of time. If a fault is found with the car in the 1st 6 months from new, then the dealer has to prove the car wasn't faulty when they first sold it to you.
It should be the dealer or Mazda UK proving that the paintwork isn't defective, not the other way round.
If I was you, get legal advice and get your money back ASAP.
Your dealer and Mazda UK are not above the law, although they like to think they are.  It sounds like your car dealer is refusing to take any responsibility and trying to pass the book onto Mazda UK. They sold you the car which makes them responsible. The sale of the car is in effect a contract between you and the Mazda dealer. All car dealers are the scum of the earth. If you have problems they don't want to know.

I wouldn't touch the paintwork at all. You can bet your life they'll wash their hands of the whole thing if they suspect someone's been messing with the paintwork.

Yep they will cry the warranty has been voided.

Have you got it writing from Mazda that they are refusing to do anything about it and to use chipex?Huh?

Your best bet is to just reject the car while you still can and either get a replacement or your money back.

They are trying to stall till the 6 months runs out Mazda tried that with me but I just rejected the car and got it replaced Mazda don't have a leg to stand on.

Consumer direct is the way to go they are new trading standards they are very good they told me how to reject the car and what to write in the letter to the dealership.

The only issue I have had with corrosion was all 4 of my doors the bolts weren't painted and they were rusting. They replaced them with white bolts/.

YOU need to reject the car NOW before your time runs out and you are stuck with that car no point waiting for others to get back to you.

Phone consumer direct and register your complaint with them they will tell you what to put in the letter then deliver the letter to the dealership that stops the clock as the ball is in their court then.
