Mazda 2 corrosion or rust common?

Hi all,

I'm from Canada, and we are finally getting the M2! Well not personally but I am considering one however I do have one major concern besides the overall reliability. Does the Mazda 2 had any major issues of early rust or corrosion especially around the rear wheel wells. Reason being my last car was a 01 Protege and it seems like a common problem with all Protege owners and even the early Mazda 3s, regardless of how well kept and clean comparable to older cars. I've searched thru various mazda forums and  even it was these were rust buckets. I'm hoping that they have improved, the design or steel used.

I've skimmed through the forums are is there likely a sticky of common issues since the latest generation model came out.

well I don't know if they suffer from rust but they have a anti corrosion warranty for something like 10 years.
Most modern cars will have a galvanized body now to back up any claims made by the manufacture.
