Hi guys,  im looking to get a mazda 2 1.5 sport very soon and i currently have a sound system in my 2001 fiesta consisting of the alpine ida-X001 head unit, fusion front speakers, tweeters, alpine amp and a JBL sub.  I want to get all of that into the mazda.  Ive been doing lots of searching for fascia panels and all sorts for the head unit.  If i was to get the double din one that i have already seen on this post would that be compatible with my alpine head unit which is believe is a single din (using a pocket to fill the gap)..?   I don't know too much about all this thats why im struggling!  Any help would be greatly apreciated  Smiley

Sounds like a plan!
you dont have to have just a pocket, you could put a pop-out DVD in the other slot =P

i've seen the Fascia's on ebay but i'm not certain on their quality. Mazda sell them too. not too sure on prices, you could try halfords too but when i worked there in march they didnt do them (you will need to ask as it would be a special order)

This is what's on ebay I've found it in the past but when I thought that the dash must be taken apart I prefered to stay with the factory unit!

I've just bought a fascia adapter for my M2, but it doesn't look like the one shown on the Kenwood website, it's the full front panel, extending from the hazard switch, all the way down to the aircon controls. I battled to find one, but finally found an importer that's started bringing them into South Africa recently.

It cost me R950, which is around 80 pounds or so, so not cheap by any stretch of imagination.  Shocked

My car's at my installer at the moment, getting the royal sound treatment  Grin

Woo! Rung up my local audio place who sold me my original system and they said that they can order me the fascia panel and the connections for the steering wheel controls, take my syste out of my current car (fiesta), put it all in for me which includes single din head unit with pocket, sub, amp, speakers, tweeters and my bluetooth adapter; all for £290!!!

VERY HAPPY!  Grin Grin Grin
