cuke2u,

they are led so not proper fogs, therefor classed as driving lights as they put out the same light as the side lights, so no 60 quid fine!!

angelos,

they are h11 and only one bulb in each unit they are the flat led type not the cheap bubble type, not sure how to put pics on here as im rubbish with computers lol

Hi, I'm not sure if your explanation would actually convince the average copper, they are designed as fogs, thus fogs they are whatever you like to call them and whatever bulbs you've fitted to them. Suffice to say they are just not good for drivers coming towards you in the dark. I still say they should be switched off, for the sake of other road users...

cuke2u,
every one is intitled to there opinion, im not arguing with you, but ive had them in nearly a year now and never been pulled cos of them, i followed police cars, passed them in the oppisite direction and been at traffic light and theyve passed me no trouble at all, i wouldnt use them if they were brighter than what they are (same as my side lights), i agree with the 60quid fine for fogs, i hate idiots who drive around with sides and (proper) fogs on, cheers.

angelos,
look on ebay and type in, h11 1w led, or just h11 led, mine are the ones with the single led bulb on each connector, they are the same brightness as led sidelights, there are some on ebay with 8 and 12 leds on each connector but they are realy bright and you will be pulled by the fuzz staight away with them in.

Hi,
I thought the fog lights were sealed units that had to be replaced as such. Huh?
This was the impression i got from reading the owners manual when i considered upgrading mine??

Actually looking at the ones on eBay that Benny has I think I misunderstood the manual. Its because it is a bulb and housing rather than just a bulb, which i suppose could be called a "unit" .
Don't think I'll change mine though just bought another set of Nightbreakers as one had blown after 10 months!!
£15 for lights I only put on when its foggy is a bit steep.
Thanks
MD

PS I've just thought do osram bulbs have any sort of guarantee as changing one after 10mths is unusal. I made sure not to touch the glass when fitting them.

what he said.
 :Smiley
What anoyed me was that you can't get them as single bulbs cheaply. Actually saw one somewhere for about the same price as a pair Angry
Anyway, have fitted new set and kept the other as a spare.

Has anyone tried changing the side lights on a facelift version, using the technique described in this thread? Man its hard!! i can't even get my hands in the gap to be able to turn the light holder!
Need tips!!
I swear they design cars so that you need to take it to a garage to change anything, just so they can charge you for it!

Changing sidelights for the pre-facelift model is really hard too! Manual states that you remove wheels covers!!!
Especially on the side with the fuses you really need skill and luck to fit them!!
