So about the rust.. Technician from my Mazda dealer said that it's normal, usually after some months after putting new car into operation, so, don't worry about that Smiley.

Hi Majki,
The cars look good, paired up. Like a Mazda 2 advertisement.
I checked under the bonnet of my car which is six months old today and the same components as yours are beginning to show rust.
The components are thick metal so will not rust away before the rest of the car.
With previous cars, as I will do with this one, I put silicone spray on the rusty engine auxiliaries.
Thankfully we have not got any engine oil leaks which used to hide the rusty bits in older cars.
Cheers

Hi Colric, thx for message. Before you applied silicone spray, did you get the rust off from the components? With some sand-paper or..?
Thank,
Majki

Using WD-40 spray will help or it must not be used on engine components?

With WD-40 you have to be careful about palstic hoses around..but I think it could help.

Hi guys and girls,

I have seen people using "coke-cola"  Shocked to clean rust from metal parts, I have used it to loosen a bolt that was rusted to a thread before and it worked - The Coke and the rust together makes a chemical reaction or something  Tongue

Might work for you  Huh?

Hi Majki,
I have never tried to remove rust from engine components. It is too much hassle and I doubt the parts would stay clear of rust for long.
Silicone spray, WD40 or a light grade oil wiped on to the components inhibits the oxidisation but does not stop it entirely.
I have never heard of WD40 causing problems with plastic or rubber hoses.

Murray, your coke idea sounds interesting. I presume you mean coca cola not white powder!
I have heard of people using coke as a pan cleaner but a reaction that causes the rust to stop sounds intriguing.
I may paint some on one of the components and see what happens.
Are you guaranteeing this process, Murray?
Cheer
