Hi All.

I've just bought some replacment speakers for my new Mazda2. Is there some 'special way' of removing the speaker grilles as I cant seem to be able to be able to get a screwdriver under them to prise them off with a screwdriver? Admittedly I might need to use a bit more brute force (I might be being a bit too careful as the car's only 2 days old...), but was wondering if anyone has replaced their standard speakers and could advise how to get the speaker grilles off. Thanks for your help. David

Can anyone else confirm this, and if they really are one part with the door, would anyone have door card / plastic removal instructions?

I would think the whole door card needs to be removed as most car manufacturers do that now...
chances are there are screws are all round the edge of the door that are holding them in place.

what speakers you got??
I wouldnt mind changing the head unit but think ill wait a bit before i do.... Have just coughed up for the car after all lol

Am going to give it another shot this morning. Speakers will be Pioneer TS E1702i or 1702iS depending on whether the doors can cater for their depth. Failing that it'll have to be the TS G1703i.

Front doors done. Two screws (one behind the door pull and another in the armrest) to be removed and then it's just clips all round. Not a difficult job but had to drill new holes for the screws and use a spacer for the TS E1702i. The 1702iS is slightly too deep. Already a marked improvement in the sound. Tomorrow I'll do the back ones.

Does somebody knows, if there is prepared some connectors for the 3rd pair of speakers in front doors? I mean the little high tone speakers (I have only for speakers, one pair in front doors and second pair in rear doors). I wanna six speakers too Smiley And which one would you recommend me Wink

Tweeter - loudspeaker designed to produce high frequencies ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tweeter )

So, generally it is speaker for me!
