Hi, certain road tests alluded to the Toyos being particulary bad in the wet, thus any good brand would probably improve matters. BTW, how much were the Avons and what Avons were they? Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris, They're Avon ZV5's. I paid around £160 including tracking. I'm very pleased with them so far.

The've got some cracking reviews haven't they. If i'd have had more time i'd probably of given them a go as the price seem pretty good too.

having mine changed to proxes t1-r's has an incident with a pothole busted one and there is quite a bit of wear on the current proxes i have. although im a heavy driver the condition for 6000 miles isn't good at all, so went to garage to look at replacing and their toyo dealer came back and advised me to get the t1-rs over the current ones due to them being very soft at £60 a tyre im happy

yeah the mazda2 standard tyres seem quite bad in wet weather, particularly when you're in a busy roundabout and need to jet off quickly (spin spin!). And being England, you can count on wet weater...

Mine still has the Toyos it came with on.... The service yesterday came back showing 5mm on front and 7mm on the back after 12100 mostly motorway miles with a bit of spirited driving in the country.
I'm happy with that.

**BUMP** How have folks been getting on with their Toyo's? Mine are due for replacement (19,000 miles) - does anyone have any recommendations, or should I stick with Toyo and get the Proxes T1-R's ? ..... and while we're talkin' tyres.... What's the typical wear pattern on the front's? Mine have worn more on the outside. Didn't know whether this was my over enthusiastic cornering or a case of the wheels being slightly out of alignment (toe-in). Thanks in advance.

Can't currently comment on the wear of my Toyo's on the Sport as I've still only got 350ish miles on the clock. Have noticed that they seem to pick up a lot more stones in the grooves than on the Goodyear Eagle F1's that I've always used on my previous couple of motors....Not really a problem, just an observation....

The Toyos (not Proxies) are standard on all 2 across the range. But only the name deserves.
