Has anyone driven both and tell me if there is a big difference as on paper it's 17 bhp between 1.3 and 1.5 and £1200 is lot more money to gain a few more bhp - most of my driving is done in town

Sport come with some extras such as climate control, auto headlamps/wipers, Traction control and moreover 3ccs more for insurance cost!
If you don't want to spare that extra money go for the Tamura! It has the beautiful look of sport and it will be more economical for city driving! I personally did the same but the only difference is that mazda here offered sports aero pack (the look of sport) on a TS2!
Now that tamura is available(with new headlmaps and so on) it makes the 1.3L model really beautiful so if you are not willing to pay extra insurance cost and don't mind the extras go for it!
The 1.3L offers more that enough for city driving and can hit the motorway at the speed limit easily!
I would propose to you the sport but since you are not just between those 2 models as a dilemma and you have a reason go for the Tamura!

Thanks for the advice. I wish mazda UK would do the tamura with a 1.5 on offer i think that would be the right car for most as tamura gives everything you need

Had a 1.3 TS courtesy car for a few days recently whilst my sport was being worked on and it went really well. So I agree with Angelos, if you don,t want all the extras go for the Tamura its cheaper and really well spec'd too;D Grin

definitely an extra £300-400 on price list and that would be my choice 1.5 tamura in a perfect world.

I must admit that the 1.5 sport does go really well and I've also had fitted as extras, centre armrest, CD multi changer, scuff plates, rear mud flaps and a boot liner to finish it off. Grin Grin

Well I bought the Tamura on Monday there because of the lower insurance and for the limited edition factor that comes with the car

I wonder what the used prices of both will be in few years? i would imagine there won't be alot in it.

I test drove a ts2 before i got the sport and seem to remember it going fine, but i felt i'd prefer a little more grunt. It's also worth remebering that the 1.5 really opens up after a few thousand miles, i'm not sure how big the difference is on the 1.3

Try and test drive both before you make your mind up, its big money to spend to be disapointed!

Your not wrong about the 1.5 opening up after a few thousand miles, my sport has 2200 miles on the clock and seems to have found some additional get up and go already. Grin

Wades I think your right and more than likely will sign up to the sport. My dad said the same about his civic after a few thousand it becomes a different car

Re-calling Andre's post , check out the prices of the accessories beforehand, i'm telling you this because in Malta the prices are quite different , when i was going to purchase the car i decided to go for the TS2 with the Aero pack installed ( with the sport kit but without the fog lamps and without the 16 inch alloys) and it was going to cost me around €16500, after 2 days of check out i found that it was coming without the fog lamps and i became frustrated wth that. I called the dealer and he told me that the fog lamps will cost me €450 without the installation. Hell that was a quite high price. After this i changed my mind and i had my order to be changed and get a sport instead with a difference of €1250 so for this difference i will have a 1.5 engine, climate control, 16 inch alloys, wiper and headlight sensors , black dials , cruise control, and of course the fog lamps.
