We live on a relatively steep hill and are looking for some winter wheels for my girlfriend's M2 (I have some on my car and am sold by the concept). She's only just bought the car and, since I don't know much about them, would appreciate some advice.

It seems that the standard 16" alloys don't really lend themselves to winter tyres of the same profile. I was thinking of getting a set of steel wheels for winter use and, at the same time, changing the size down to 185/55/15. My only worry about this is whether 15" wheels fit on the Sport ... I was browsing sgpetch and saw that some 15" alloys won't fit the sport ... though the 14" alloys will  Huh?

Assuming they do fit, do I just need to find some 6Jx15 4x100 ET45 rims with a 54.1mm centre bore (eBay doesn't seem to have that many original Mazda wheels)? I guess I could trawl the local breakers for some but wondered whether anyone could recommend anywhere to get a wheel/tyre package?

I live in a country that has more "winter" than the uk, I ges.  Smiley

Well, I have 2 sets wheels on my car. Summer and winter. I have standard 16" aloys with 195/45 tyres on as summer wheels. It is normal to go down on the winter wheels. I got my car deliverd with 15" aloys from Mazda with 185/55-15 wheels on. The tyres name are Viking Contakt or something. I am verry happy with them.
I think you should go for 15" and not 14". 15" is deliverd as standard winter wheels here, in Norway.
