The car I took for a test drive had one fitted, when it's down you can't easily access the handbrake, but it does rotate upwards. Personally, I'd imagine it would get on my nerves having to move it up and down all the time.

I have found out that the dealer i bought the car from is doing the armrest for £129 fitted, but i have also found a Web site that you can buy it from and fit it your self, but the price is not yet shown, i have e-mailed them to ask the price but not yet had a reply. my local dealer have priced it at £83.87 inc vat, still have not made up my mind if i should buy one though.

i have one, i wouldn't advise getting it tho as it gets in the way of the handbreak, luckily i have a small hand so i can get to it but really the only use is motorway driving.

My wife's 2 has a centre arm rest. In the down position I find it difficult to get to the handbrake and in the raised position it blocks the gap between the seats and my elbow bangs into it. It is great for storage and as a rest on longer journeys, but for me it just gets in the way. my wife, being smaller has no difficulties with it.

was thinking of getting this as I had one in my previous car (renault megane) and with the lack of interior compartments in comparison to te old car, I think I need this.

My dealership is doing it for £129 minus 10% as thats where I got the car, but I have seen cheaper online, but its the fitting that might be a problem.

Can anyone that has one please take pictures of it open & shut to give me a better idea of what its like before I buy.

Hi there.  I got my dealer to fit when supplying the vehicle.  I had an old mazda 323F previously and it had a box which was not quite an armrest but near enough.  But I got very used to it very quickly when I got the car.  When I was trading in for this one I decided to get the centre armrest and am really glad I did as I really like it.  Like you I am a scot so you will understand that the weather is the usual today.  However I will go get some photos now and post for you.   Smiley
