Hi to everybody. I am 3 weeks shy of turning 18 and plan to enquire at the weekend in getting a Mazda 2 1.5 Sport. I've owned a Toyota Starlet 1.3 CD since August 2008 (i am a member of ukstarletclub.com) and have had my full licence since Dec 2008. I was originally planning on buying a Starlet GT Turbo/Glanza when i receive the money from an insurance claim i have ongoing. But after visiting the MINI United Festival 2009 at Silverstone the past weekend, I have realised a new supermini is the way to go.

Finance (im hoping) will be in my parents name and should be able to cope with the £2500 or thereabouts insurance quotes ive had. From what ive read, the 2 outperforms similar stuff i was looking at such as Fiat 500's, Mini's, Yaris T Sport's.

When i was younger I used an insurance company called adrian flux, on there hot hatch policy.  That should bring your insurance down a bit for you.

my mum and dad own a Mazda RX-8 (230 Version) and have done for a few years now so i know how well kitted Mazda's are. I plan on taking the trip down on saturday and get them to come with me. hopefully i can strike a bargain like they did with the RX.

ive tried Adrian Flux on my current car but wouldnt give me a quote, zurich seem to be the best quote on a 2 at the moment, but i may stay with direct line as im earning my NCB as just a named driver.

Im currently paying £1300 fully comp on my Starlet, i had to sign the car over to my mums name and go on her policy as a named driver. when i passed my test they put it up to £3000 from £1600 which i could manage but thought was ridiculous (on TPFT).
