Hi everbody,
I just wanted to ask if anyone has used the mazda dvd navigation system and had it installed successfully, i had a look at the link below

http://www.autodvdgps.com/mazda-2-dvd-gps-navigation-system-8-digital-touch-screen-rds-ipod-steering-control-virtual-6-discs-cdc-p-841.html

if you click on the picture u can surf through all the pictures from different angle and at the end there is alot of cables lines etc that kinda scared me cuz i dont know if u can use all of it to connect to mazda 2 properly since they are not mazda manufactured.
Anyhow could someone who had this installed succesfully please let me know.

It amazes me why anyone would consider buying  / installing a dvd based navigation system that has built-in obsolescence.

You'd have to be extremely naive to think that the maker of this head-until will still be producing map updates in 5 years time.

Far better off with a TomTom or similar.

My wife and I enjoy setting the Sat Nav to shortest path/no motorways options.  It leads to some very scenic routes and a few challenges when it inevitably goes wrong.  It's the fun of map reading without the arguments as we are joinly united against the sat nav.

I can't be bothered to update the system with latest maps, so I don't care if they update them.

Map updates on the TomTom are a waste of time and money. I had one free map update when I bought mine and it still tells me I'm approaching a roundabout that hasn't been there for years near me. It also says that my friends road doesn't exist and she's lived there for 3 years.

Paying for updates is therefore clearly a waste of time, because they aren't up to date.
