Hi There I am new to the forum and what a brilliant forum it is.  I never had a Mazda before but I love my TS2  and so far no probs.  It is much better in many ways than my Toyota Corolla.  Any how I was reading the Manual and it states that  the alarm can make an activation sound when the key lock is pressed.  Does anyone know how its done or is it only the dealer that can do it?  I am due to take my car for its first service do you think its a chargeable item? And does anyone know the rough cost of a first service?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Hmm didnt think the car made a sound when you locked or knew that it could. I expect it can but not got the foggiest how to do it all I know is that the alarm works ( as do my neighbbours when they were woken at 3am by me falling against my car).

To be honest ive never took the manual that serious espcially when it insists that the 2 has heated rear seats.

The manual states that right and as I said again the 3dr featured at the mazda stand at Goodwood last year had a switch at the side of the  front seats with the heated sing on it! But I don't know where is is available!!

Thanks for the replies

Yes it states in the manual that the default setting is set to off for the alarm making a sound when the door is locked/unlocked and wondered if it was something that could be done myself

Hi
I took my car for its first service today and asked about the alarm activation confirmation beep and the engineer was puzzled then said it could not be done but was going to contact technical support.
I phoned mazda direct  and they confirmed it can be done and get the dealer to contact technical support.  I will give it a day or so then phone my dealer and see what they  say.  So it can be done if anyone is interested.  I would like this as I find that the locks are so quiet when locking the car and I find I keep checking the car is locked

If you press the wireless remote button again within 3 sec of locking the car, you should be able to hear the secondary deadlocks operate on the doors Wink Grin

So that's why I hear that sound when I double press my button within a couple of seconds? I was pressing it twice to make sure it locked and sometimes I wondered why the second time I couldn't hear the sound when I was late Cheesy

I mean should we prefer deadlocking instead of the single button press?

Dead locking, because if your car is stolen they can't open the doors Grin Grin
