Hi there

I purchased my Mazda 2 diesel just over a year ago and I have been having having a few problems - initially the car would hiccup and jerk very occasionally at about 30mph usually when you ease off the accelerator. The car went into our local dealership where they updated the engine management system and it seemed to cure it. Several months later it re-appeared and keeps on re-appearing. The problem seems to be getting worse and seem to be happening more and more often and at any speed although worse at 30-40mph. The garage are doing their best to try and fix it but to no avail. I run a driving school so it is really important to get this issue solved asap as I cannot afford to constantly be in and out of the garage every 5 mins. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it!

I am getting so fed up with it cos it spoils what is in all other respects a lovely car! I'm even considering trading it in as it is becoming such an issue.

Any help or advice much appreciated

Sue

This sounds like a sensor problem to me, get the garage to check all sensors to the engine management system starting with the the pressure sensor on the common rail.

driving school and diesel can give some trouble on modern diesel engines.

It's pretty important you get the on the highway to give it some stick to get all the sod partikels burned out. those symptons you describe could be a partly clogged egr valve or partikel filter with high back pressure.

might be worth adding extra additive in the fuel tank, to clean injecters and such.

hope  this is of help to you.
