Don't know if anything's changed on the car or not but i have noticed the ride quality on My Mazda 2 Tamura seems to be worse then normal. It's pitching and bumping a lot over road services that it didn't seem too before.

Anybody else notice this with the Mazda 2?

Is there anything that can be done?

Are the tyre pressures the same as they have always been or have you adjusted them since the problem started and its a short wheelbase so the ride may be a little unbalanced on some roads Grin

I took some air out of the tyres a few weeks ago because they were massively overinflated from new.

My best friend has a neck injury and she says "This is the bumpiest car I've been in" and she's been in a Cityrover!

Don't know what to do it about, but it hurts her neck, do i may have to change cars for something else.

My Old Skoda Fabia VRS was smoother - and that had sports suspension.

Any ideas?

32psi on the front, 29psi on the back, in accordance with the manual.

Think i should put some more air in or take some out?

Perhaps you should check your pressure gauge is accurate Mikew or try another and compare Wink

Please tell me you are not using a pressure gauge at a garage forecourt, as they are notorious for being incorrect and usually over inflate the tyres when surveyed Shocked

Generally being over inflated causes a hard ride and under inflated the road noise may be more evident, but only by a few PSI Grin

I'm using the pressure gauge on my footpump.

Wish i could get it to ride a bit smoother because i really like my 2!

Foot pump gauges I have found are not very reliable, so would suggest you get a good quality hand held tyre pressure gauge to be sure. Grin

What size tyres do you have on your M2?...16"?, 17"?...If so, then the answer is very simple...Your tyres are unecessarily low in profile than they need to be...Buy smaller wheels with deeper tyres and your ride problems will be over. Wink
I had the same problem with my 2003 model TS2 D which was fitted with 195/50R15 tyres on 6"x15" 5 spoke Mazda alloys...I replaced them with the only other tyre option for the car stated in the manual, 175/65R14 tyres, and I fitted them to 5.5"x14" five spoke Ford Alloys and the ride was greatly improved.  These new tyres also gave me three other big benefits, lower road noise, lower fuel consumption and replacement tyres are considerably cheaper too. Grin

Have to agree the ride is rather firm and a bit noisy, think it's more to do with overdamping and soundproofing than the tyres alone,
I don't rate Toyo's as much as some do.
Have looked at tyre reviews Bridgestone & Kumho/Hankook were rated for quietness and comfort.
I had a Getz (really) Grin and it had a quieter & softer ride than the Mazda with it's Hankook tyres but the handling was crap that's more to do with the car not the tyres.
