Hi All here we go again, just had a look at my rear fog(s) and it looks as though the whole fog light "housing" is there all but the bulb, bulb holder and wire (on the left hand light as you look at the rear of the car(vehicle), so my question is how do I get into the back of the fog (as if I was changing the bulb) to see if I could put a bulb -holder-and wire into the "Empty" housing.  I await your replies in anticipation, joeboy Undecided

Hi all again   The rear fogs definitely on hold, wen't to the local Mazda dealer to price up the bulb holder and wire(30 cm) quoted £30.62p GBP, joke or what, £1 per certimetre of wire no way, so no laying on my back under the car this weekend, so watch this space. joeboy.

Hi  All  Just a quick update on the rear fog lights, the short anwser is, if you want 2 rear fogs and you have a right hand drive car, you will have to source a left hand drive fog light as the hole that the bulb and bulb holder fit into are CUT to a pattern (triangler) as apposed to a striaght ROUND hole, so I for one will be looking for a left hand drive car's fog light, I shall be trying French or German dealers I suppose, they don't make things easy do they, I found the connector (live feed and return(earth)) behind the back bumper, to release this you have to take the number plate off squeeze the little lugs and drop it down under the back of the motor and on your back again, not a lot of wire to play with, and that's about it, so all I can say is watch this space again, regards, joeboy.

Hi nathan, and all those reading this thread, The latest on the fogs, is when't back to Mazda dealer today, and I quote " Should be able to get the left hand drive fog light for you, take about 7 to 14 day, and that will be ( hold your breath now) £170, including fitting", Me " forget the fitting, I'll do it myself, how much for the unit"  dealer "£66", Me  " now that's better, order me one, please,"  So as I keep saying, watch this space. joeboy.

That's still too much if you consider this price for the right hand http://mazda-2.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/parts/detail/category=ROOT-body/engine=1/part=1828 :/

Hi Angelos   Only to true it's expensive, but they have got you(me) over a barrel "if you want it, you PAY or go without" but is that not the case with any manufacturer today, joeboy.

Hi All I got the LEFT HAND fog light from the dealer today.  Total cost being £53.98 GBP.   So will be fitting this next Saturday along with the lowering springs and back exhaust box which I brought of a fellow forum user.  Hope to post pictures of the work in progress before and after. Conversation with the dealer about the rear fog light went like this.

Dealer:  Would you like the fog light fitted, shall we book the vehicle in.
Me:       How much?
Dealer:   £170 plus VAT
Me:       No thanks I will fit it myself.
Dealer:   Well you know that you have to extend the wire on the new lamp and cut and join this to the
             right-hand fog light wire.
Me:        Why? what is the matter with joining to the junction box behind the bumper behind the number
             plate.
Dealer:    Oh that junction box, thats for the rear number plate lights.
Me:         Really! well why are the wires from the right-hand light going to this box and it has only got
two wires COMING from the number plate light which are a live feed and earth.
Dealer:     Um! that will be £53.98 please sir.
Me:         Thank you

Doesn't give you a great deal of confidence in the dealership does it I know he was only the parts man but boy oh boy I will leave it at that and all thats left to say is 'Watch this Space'  joeboy.
