I got my Mazda TS2 last week, so far very pleased apart from one problem. Sometimes when I lock the car by pressing the lock button on the key after 30 seconds the alarm goes off and I don't know why this is happening. I've checked all the doors/boot and they are definitely shut. It doesn't happen all the time and I don't think I do anything different when it does happen. It happened last night outside my house three times and in the end I pressed the unlock button and left it though when I went to it this morning the car was locked. It's done the same thing this morning so I'm not sure if I've left the car locked or unlocked! Reading previous posts is this a fault with the key/alarm or am I doing something incorrectly - never had a keyless entry system before but as there is only a lock and unlock button on the key don't see how I can do anything else !! Thanks for your comments/help. Read the manual but that wasn't much help - far too long winded and no troubleshoot section.

hi don't know much about the alarm but if you unlock with the key fob buttons and don't open any of the doors the car will lock itself again after a pre set time hope this explains a little

I took my car to Mazda garage last night - thankfully it did the same thing to them and so it wasn't just me! Had three people looking at it at one point - computer diagnosed problem with internal sensors and driver's door sensor which after 1½ hours of fiddling they couldn't rectify so it is booked to go back in in couple of weeks to have these replaced. At present they have merely disconnected the audible alarm so that I can lock the car without the alarm going off all the time. Will let you know what happens. They said they hadn't come across it before but see this might not be a one off.

thanks for reply ozp, I'd be very interested to hear what your diagnostic check shows on Friday as if you've already had sensors replaced and this didn't solve the problem this may well happen to me too ! I've got to wait couple of weeks before car goes in but car is booked in for whole day so hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it in that time frame !

took car in today dropped it off for 2 hours, when i got back at 4pm the alarm had behaved so waited around and alarm started playing up, an hour later we had cleared fault codes and alarm was still going off at random intervals so now got to wait till monday as they need to contact tech support. they checked all parts on stock list and 1 was not available as tech had put it on hold which is part of the alarm. will let you know more as and when i find out.
alarm fault codes indicated door switch and sonics but when cleared alarm went off with no more codes stored, only explination was that alarm had been on and doors unlocked with key and checking sonics by alarming the car when inside and moving around.

My garage was certainly scratching it's head - looks like it's going to be one of those annoying problems but I'm sure someone will get to the bottom of it eventually! Thanks for keeping me posted.

went into mazda today and apparently mazda tech said it will be the door switches. apparently they will show on diognostic as working even if there is a fault.

we just need a mazda ts to have the full set ! Collected mine on 8th Sept from Wrights in Norwich so looks like the faults are spread about, but then again there may be loads more but people don't post on this forum. Hopefully they'll recognise that there is an issue and do something to resolve it swiftly once they get to the bottom of it and know exactly what to do !! I've still got another 12 days to wait until my car goes in for attention.

Hi, a alarm going off without any apparent reason can sometimes be attributed to movement of air within the cockpit being picked up by the sensors, closing all the vents would prove this. Another reason can be put down to a faulty switch, either on the doors, bonnet or the rear hatch and sometimes a good application of wd40, and some manipulation of the switch, can cure... Chris
