Hi everyone,

First post as only picked up 59 reg Tamura a couple of weeks ago, love it so far.  Checked oil level at weekend and already half way down gauge.  Halfords have today checked their computer system and state that they don't supply correct oil for Mazda 2 post 2007??
Read a couple of other posts about this today and is it correct that you have to use "Mazda" oil to protect warranty?  Is this a normal amount of oil usage as well for about 900 miles from new?  Still got to get my fog lights fitted when they turn up at dealer so will probably get oil done then but be interested to hear anyone else's experiences / recommendations?

Thanks

H, check the manual for the oil specs then purchase same from Halfords. You can expect a little more use of engine oil for the first couple of thousand miles, but keep and eye on it and report to mazda at the first service if usage isn't too high..

Thanks Chris and will do, I take it that doesn't affect warranty in any way if I purchase my own oil and top up then rather than have dealer do it?

Hi, you'd be wasting your money that, as Nathan_MAZDA2 says they'd never know and we all do it anyway..

Chris

Get your oil from your local Camberly Auto Factors as its a lot cheaper than Halfords. Wink
I bought a 5 litre bottle DriveTec 5w30 fully synthetic (suitable for Petrol engines and Diesel engines) for just £25.63...The cheapest equivalent 5 litre bottle of oil at Halfords is £38.99! Shocked
