Hi everyone,
I have just put 1500 miles on the clock of my m2 petrol sport, has anyone else found the car isn't all that great on hills? Not sure if this is common in the m2 or if i still have to wait for the performance to kick in as i have read after the first 1500-2000 miles the car usually improves.

Thanks, Janie.

Are you used to a more powerful car? I had a 1.6 Tigra before my M2 Sport and even though it technically had a little less HP, at the moment it seems to me that it had a bit more "go" - unless you turned the a/c on! I am, however, less than 400 miles in the M2 so I'm not anywhere near to ragging the engine yet!

As hockeyshooter notes, it depends what you were previously used to. Unfortunately I've still got only 190 miles on mine so will not be pushing it for some time yet. My old focus had 170 horses therefore I'm expecting a drop in performance in any case. Let us know if you feel any further gains with any extra mileage.

I had a 1998 pug 106 1.4, so i am not used to a powerful car. The m2 is going well generally but its just that i notice i have to change down when i wouldnt expect to in a new car on alot of hills.
My only other complaint about the car is the stupid design of the seats and the way they dont return to their original possition when you have let someone in the back ( 3 door model of course) i cant believe a new car has this design flaw.

ok rant over,

I have a 5 door so I may be talking out of my whatsit, but my wife's previous car was a 3 door Yaris and we were frustrated with the front seats until we sussed it!

I am guessing that access to the rear from the driver's side is difficult, if not impossible, as it probably doesn't slide.  If that is right, then hopefully this post will help.  I believe that this is common on Japanese cars as a Mitsubishi I test drove was the same.

When getting into the back from the passenger's front door it is important that you do the following:

Tilt the backrest fully forward and then slide the seat forward.  To return the seat to the original position, slide the seat backwards until it stops BEFORE you push the backrest up again.  Doing that worked on the Yaris and Colt.

If someone can try this and report back it could be useful to other owners.  If I am wrong please don't quote this post as I will quickly delete it    Cheesy
