Guys, wondered if you could help a new owner?  Huh?

Having picked up my sport today, I thought I'd connect up my mp3 player through the Aux in socket. I found that I have to crank the volume right up to max on the mp3 player  Shocked  just to get any sound through the head unit. Is this normal???

I use Sony Walkman mp3 players as opposed to ipod's, but I assume this would not make any difference.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Ellis

i think its just a poor aux unit in the 2 as with my ipod i have to have it cranked to the max as well and the car volume up to around 20 to get the level of sound i want. I would suggest also having your mp3 player just under full volume just a bit as it distorts at max volume.

Cheers for the info Benji!
Just checking I didn't have a dodgy connection or anything.
I can see that somewhen I'm going to take my mp3 player out of the car and use the headphones and blast my ears out if I'm not careful!  Shocked

Yeah its really low volume when directly through an aux lead. I had the same issue with my Blackberry and this method.
I am now using a bluetooth gateway connected to the Aux-in and this is much better, quality and volume  wise. I know its not an option using an MP3 player but for anyone using a phone or other bluetooth device its a definite winner.

My N95 doesn't have this problem, my archos 2 must be at 95% volume and the car at  ~ 25 to hear the mp3s good enough while driving!
