Troubleshooting / Re: Squeaky Mazda 2

Update*

Noise is significantly louder when engine is up to optimal temp. It is by far the most annoying sound I have ever heard and i've had some bangers in the past.

It is certainly down to excessive movement so I think i'm just going to have to remove and inspect each mount one by one and replace them.

Im going to start with the hydro mount as it is the most expensive at ?75.

Will post back in a couple of weeks with an update as it will have to squeak until i get paid  ;D

Things like this always happen just AFTER the warranty period

Cheers.

Thanks for that.  I might buy the lights and harness and have a go myself. What can go wrong.

Hi Shaun

Yeah i changed that last week, it didnt really make a difference. It made the sound less audible for a few hours of driving but soon went back to how it sounds now.

Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / OBDII Error P0328 - Anyone else??
« Last post by DarkKnight on October 18, 2018, 05:45:26 PM »
Hi,

I've recently purchased a Mazda2 1.5 Sport (2008).
The car is absolutely amazing - being new (and young) to the car game, I've only really had crappy little runarounds, but I really feel like this is my first PROPER car.
However, about 2 weeks into ownership and the dreaded engine warning light has come on.
Luckily I already have an OBDII scanner, and so plugged it in.
The scanner returned with a P0328 Trouble code...
Brief search through the web has come up with the following description: "Powertrain - Ignition System or Misfire - ISO/SAE Controlled, Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High. Location Bank 1 or Single Sensor"
I'm by no means an engineer, so am definitely going to take it to one!

Was just wondering whether anyone else has had this problem, and what they did to fix it.

Many thanks,

PS: I usually use a name generator for these usernames, but you guys can call me Rob  ;) ;)

Here is a link to a video i got my wife to take while i drove the car. The squeak can be heard most at around the 25 second and onwards mark where i shift from 3rd to 2nd.

Hi, I am taking my 2 in for its first annual service after 6000 trouble free miles.  I asked for a price to supply and fit foot well illumination lights and was quoted ?150,  is this a fair price?  Any one done it themselves, is there instructions in the box?

Thanks for any help.

Vehicle Entertaintment / Navigation Systems / Update sat nav
« Last post by jimw on October 18, 2018, 04:31:02 PM »
Hi, I am takig my 2 in to supplying dealer for its first annual service soon and asked if the would update satnav.  I was told I would have to do it myself online through Mazda toolbox.  I see from here there has been problems using this, anyone had success?  What happens when it fails?  Does the sat nav still work?

Thanks for any advice,

Jim
