Mazda 2 - safety recall - Drivers seat security
« on: August 10, 2017, 12:10:23 AM »
Just received a recall notice for my 2008 Mazda 2 concerning drivers seat security.
It says the seat adjuster link may be cracked or the securing nuts may have become detached.
Does anyone have any more information on this fault and exactly what the dealers do to rectify the problem?
Thanks
Richard

A quick search on the DVSA website brings thus for the Mazda 2, 3 and 6 built between 03 Feb 09 and
30 SEP 10 (so it may not be your recall).

MOUNTING POINTS FOR SEAT RUNNER MAY FAIL
Description :   One or more of the mounting points between the runner and the driver?s seat may fail.
Remedial Action :   On affected vehicles, inspect the driver?s seat frame to determine if seat lifter links are damaged. If no damage is evident, fit reinforcement brackets and ?push nuts?. If damage is present to the seat lifter link, replace seat frame. If damage is restricted to stabilizer bar then the bar will be repaired plus brackets and? push nuts? fitted.

I used the same one but changed the end date to August 2017.

That brings up 26 entries and I've quoted the 25th, dated  31/05/17.  Your link is now showing it for me, but that may be due to cookies on my tablet!

Out of interest, the VOSA site doesn't have the wheel bearing recall that my old 2008 TS2 had, so I guess that was a Mazda recall and not an "official" one.
