2009 Tamura Fog Lights
« on: October 31, 2012, 05:43:04 PM »
Hi,

I have a 2009 tamura and have just ordered some fog lights off ebay. Will I need to get new bezels for them? Or do the caps on the ones already fitted come out for the lights to fit in?

Thanks

TM

Matthews1990.....

All you need to do is have a little look round the forum....

http://www.mazda2forums.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1802.msg16434#msg16434

Dan has the sport bumper with fogs fitted, same fog unit as mine & RX8 plus some others, new brackets / holders & surrounds.....

Hope this helps....

You need the fog lamp, bezel and new switch as your current switch/stalk will not control front fogs.

You can check the bits required here:
http://mazda-2.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/accessories/detail/model=63/category=safety/accessory=Fog+Lamp+Kit/id=4897

Some info here:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-24809172479195/mazda2foglamp.pdf

There was a pdf kicking about showing the full install/wiring but I can't find it. I'll add it if I do. it did look quite a complicated DIY job for someone not familiar with basic car electrics and trim removal. That said, I can't personally see the point of fitting fog lights without having them working, but its buyers/owners choice.

Thanks for your replies. I look at the links but my bezel is different then the standard ones

My bezel looks like this (which from what i can see looks exactly like the one you buy)

Does anyone know if the middle bit come out so the light can go in or do I still need to buy new ones?

Thanks

TM

Hi TM
I've done quite a bit of research on this job which i was going to do ,but have currently shelved owing to the removal of the steering wheel (I'll explain more later) .
A few points that may be of use -
The bezels will need to be replaced with ones that incorporate the new fog lights.
Make sure that you have bought the correct fog lights if you have the Aero (not chocolate) type of bumper which I'm sure the Tamura has .
The indicator stalk needs to be replaced as your current one will not have the fog light facility on it ,that's why you need to remove the steering wheel to gain access to the indicator stalk which is below the top cowling cover.
I will at some point do this job but not at present,if by chance you don't and you have the right fog lights  let me know if you want to flog them.
The only plus for this job is that the wiring should all be in place .
Good luck.

Cheers for the reply ray,

Thats a shame then i will have to get some new bezels when I got to get the new stalk.

I have got the ones for the aero bumper so should be ok with that.

The wiring is in place already as i have checked that so i am going to fit the lights myself and then get my dads garage to fit the stalk for me :) good knowing someone in the trade :) haha

Thanks

Matthews1990....

Changing the stalk is easy, top cover pops off, had to remove the bottom & front two screws off the bottom to be able to get the connector to clip back in the bottom of the stalk... was 10-15mins of a job if that....

Mathews1990 do you have the old bezels still?
My wife's car has been hit or someone has tried to pull off the passenger side bezel
