Sarein's build thread (Pic heavy)
« on: March 24, 2012, 12:57:52 AM »
Hardly a build thread as it stands but I've been meaning to get one started for a while.
Any questions on how I've achieved stuff then go ahead and ask. Know you lot like your questions  ;)

Current modifications:

 - Sebring backbox
 - Facelift rear diffuser
 - 40mm lowering springs
 - Stripped rear seats
 - Smoked side indicators
 - Changed bulbs all round
 - Goodyear eagle f1's on front
 - Gloss black badge's
 - Seat cupra front splitter
 - Front jap plate
 - Shortened aerial

Pictures! Overall and individual parts.

Very nice and subtle mods. Personally I can't stand the OTT mods you see on some 2's.

Are those the original tyres on the rear? The clipped on balancing weights were a mistake.

Came on it when I bought the car. Need replacing soon and I'm not happy with the rear tires but might be changing the alloys yet so I'll wait to decide.
At the moment it's one Khumo and one Toyo tr1. Both have huge chunks out of them thanks to a London carpark and my attraction to huge curbs.  :-[

Sarein,

NICE.... mods look fantastic.....   ;)

Trying to find one of the rear diffuser cheap so can paint it gloss like my spoiler...

Tempted to do the front splitter gloss or maybe get some front bumper spats gloss....

Any chance of some detailed shots of the front splitter fitment, I've got one of these
in the garage & removed the original... not got round to looking at the fitting yet
( work, weather, fixing M2 diesels...  )

Shaun...

Thank you  ;D

Diffusers come up on eBay around £60 I think. Way less that what I paid from Mazda  :-X

Fixing the splitter on is just a matter of lining it up and drilling it on.
Took the bumper off and got a mate to hold it with the splitter taped in place.
Really is no detail too it. Do recommend some spacers or something in the middle. Caught it on everything before I fixed it in the middle.

Front splitter is looking nice! 40mm springs are looking ace too, not worried about damage to the stock shocks?

Do I read that you have taken the back seats out?

Car looking awesome mate! Can you show a picture of the rear straight on for me please? :) I want a rear diffuser badly! Lol what search brings it up the best on eBay as I've had a look but not found any :( maybe I just need to be slightly more patient :) haha.

Loving the front splitter and new indicators as well!

Neon: Not too bothered by the sock shocks. Do me well till I get round to some new ones  ;D

Matthews: Seats are out yes. Very happy with the diffuser. Didn't think it would look as good as it does.
I normally search 'Mazda2' 'Mazda Demio' or occasionally 'DE5FS' works well.

Your car looks great.  The front lip adds that little extra which most people wont notice.

How do you get the indicators out? Do you have to go behind or do they just pop out and back in?

Wrapped a flat screwdriver with a thin cloth and popped them out through the front.
Much better than the clear ones.
