New Mazda 2 Sport Venture
« on: July 05, 2014, 10:43:17 AM »
This is my third Mazda 2 after owning a 2008 TS2 & a 2011 Tamura. I decided to go all out this time and get the top of the current range model.

Mazda have slimmed down engine choice now, so the only option for this car is the 1.35 84 PS. That's fine for me as I'm not speed demon.

I've put a few pictures of the sat nav in as I couldn't find much info about this online.

M2NO requested a pic of it on the forecourt, that colour is sooooo nice :D

And the sun just came out so let's have a couple of shots of it on my slightly less tidy drive

Nice Mazda touch

The sat nav element

And I can watch a bit of wrestling while I relax in my car :D

A great choice of replacement. :)

I'm planning to replace my Tamura in September with a Sport Venture.  The only thing I am not keen on is the colour range, I think it is very limited.  My choice would be the white!!

Anyone planning to buy a new Mazda 2, talk to your dealer about getting a space saver or spare. They're now putting in the dreaded tyre repair kit  >:(

I've only had one incident in 12 years which required a change of wheel, but still would rather have the security of a spare given the state of the roads.

Fully agree with you.

They'll tell you it is to save weight and improve economy but the real reason it petty penny pinching.  £10-£20 for a possible repair now becomes £10-£20 for more glue plus the cost of a new tyres as most places won't repair once it has the glue in it. The best price for a space saver here is £90  :o :o www.partsgateway.co.uk/mazda-parts/space-saver-wheel and that only says "wheel" so extra for a tyre!

When I bought my 12 reg Sport in January I checked if it had the space saver, if it hadn't got one I would have argued for one or taken the one from the 08 TS2 I was trading in.

Like your Sport Venture and the colour.

I think if I puncture I'll just be phoning their breakdown service since they provided it free for three years. Given the price of that space saver I'd be better getting a full size spare!

On the bright side, I noticed today that the USB port in the centre console will take a memory stick and play music/video through the screen. Just waiting for the Mrs watching a bit of video as I type  ;D

Better off buying a full size spare, but you'll have a bump in the boot floor  ;D  But that has always left the question of where you put the wheel if you do have to put the spare on.

Leave the Mrs in there and blip the central locking.

Almost a week in to owning now and, disappointment surrounding the spare aside, I'm happy... It's quiet, the fuel is currently sat at 41.1mpg even though it's barely run 300 miles, the stereo is awesome... The sat nav did take half an hour to update though.

I had a request for a few more pics, sorry I've not had chance to drive out anywhere nice with the SLR. But here goes anyway.

It really is very sparkly in the sun

And some might ask why I'm so adamant about getting a spare wheel... Well, for the lions of course... They like tyres ;)

This is my last 2 taken by a friend.

In some of the pic the car looks black.  :)
I like it a lot!
Looks nice with those silver mirrors, I think.

Kaytronika......

Nice looking car there, the paintwork is a nice touch...  as you say M2NO looks black but not quite when close up...

Whats above the indicators ? another badge like the rear ?

Iv'e just ordered a new Sport Venture to replace my Tamura for delivery on 01/09/14 in Aluminium colour, the date can't come quick enough ;D

The dealer is going to take out the puncture gunge and put my present spacesaver wheel in its place. :)

I now have a space saver, jack and wheel wrench... and this morning I also found out the car has tyre pressure sensors.... Shortly before I found a screw through the front tyre.  :o
