Here is a video that was put together by a local Mazda 2 owner while we were racing our Mazda 2 for the first time last weekend.

Very nice video man!  :o

Still watching this on repeat.
We need US style autocross but then we do have a huge range of tracks practically on our doorstep.

Brilliant video. You were up against all sorts there - lots of Porsches, even a GT3. How much work have you had to do to the suspension? Wouldn't even take mine on a track day, it rolls so much!

There is a spec kit you are supposed to run on the cars for B-Spec suspension.  On this weekend there were no other B-Spec cars so we ran our front swaybar, rear torsion bar, lowering springs, and front tower brace.  The car handled great with the BFG R1 slicks.

...  wish they did that in the UK.. ?

You could run a Mazda 2 in the MSV Trackday Trophy. Obviously you'd have to spend a couple of £k prepping it - cage, seat, harness and extinguisher a minimum.

http://www.trackdaytrophy.co.uk/requirements/car.aspx

Classes are based on power-to-weight ratio:

Class B 151 - 175 bhp/ton
Class C 126 - 150 bhp/ton
Class D 101 - 125 bhp/ton
Class E up to 100 bhp/ton

That's a good way to take care of it.  The 2 handles really well so it should do well on the tracks which have more corners and not so many straight sections
